Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

ReadSignal is a competitive intelligence service operated from Lithuania. We provide weekly AI-generated digests of publicly available competitor website data. For privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@tryreadsignal.com.

2. What Data We Collect

Account data. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (if signing in with Google) your Google profile information. If you register with email and password, we store a bcrypt-hashed version of your password — your plain-text password is never stored.

Usage data. We collect information about how you use the Service, including competitors you add, digests you generate, and timestamps of activity. This is used to operate the Service and improve it.

Payment data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or payment details — Stripe handles this entirely. We store your Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription.

Scraped website content. We collect and temporarily store publicly available content from competitor websites you configure. This content is used solely to generate your digests and is not shared with other users.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To create and manage your account
• To generate and deliver your weekly competitor digests
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To send transactional emails (digest delivery, payment receipts, password resets)
• To respond to support requests
• To improve the Service based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your competitor list or digest content with any third party.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ReadSignal:

• Supabase — database hosting (PostgreSQL). Your account data and digest history are stored here.
• Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions.
• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI processing of scraped content to generate digest summaries. Content is sent to Anthropic's API for inference and is subject to Anthropic's data usage policies.
• Firecrawl — website scraping infrastructure used to retrieve competitor website content.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and digest history for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will delete your account data within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

Password reset tokens expire after 1 hour and are deleted immediately upon use.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to certain processing of your data

7. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics. No cookie consent banner is required for session-only cookies under applicable law.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), bcrypt password hashing, and access controls on our database. No system is completely secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
